Lucy Hutchings (b. Hong Kong, 2001) is a British figurative painter currently based in London, England. She has exhibited across the United Kingdom and Madrid.

Lucy's paintings spotlight the absurdity of human tendency and explore our conditioned response to shame. Within the chaotic scenes of her paintings, there are penetrative and leaking orifices, excrement, laughter and excessive pleasure; pushing and pulling visceral experiences through imagery that is both pleasurable and grotesque, seductive and repulsive.

Inspired by personal experiences of debauchery and medieval artwork, these references are re-imagined into figurative paintings using dry pigment and oil paint, where human-like bodies are exposed consuming, excreting and bonding in their excessive pleasures.

"If you can't see yourself in at least one of the characters in these messy, debauched big-night-out scenes then you did your 20s wrong" - London Art Roundup, 2024
